What this site gives the families you serve
- Plain-language guides (about a 7th-grade reading level) on the Colorado dependency & neglect process, parents' rights, documentation, case plans, complaints, records, and family time — in English and Spanish, with audio read-aloud built in.
- Private self-help tools — a documentation log, case timeline, case-plan tracker, evidence organizer, records-request tracker, complaint builder, visit-prep checklist, and court-date reminders. Everything a parent types stays in their own browser on their own device: no accounts, no server, no tracking, nothing for anyone to subpoena from us — because we never have it.
- A verified resource directory — crisis lines, legal aid, treatment, housing, food banks, benefits, school/504 support, libraries, and family resource centers, statewide.
Every page holds one line: information and options, never advice or direction. We tell parents, on every page, that this is not legal advice and that their attorney's guidance about their own case comes first. We are an ally to the parent–attorney relationship, not a substitute for it.
Ready-to-print handouts
The printables shelf has one-page handouts sized for waiting rooms, clinics, and courthouse hallways — a rights one-pager, a wallet card with crisis and legal-help numbers, and an at-the-door card, each in English and Spanish. Print them, stack them, hand them out; they're free forever and always will be.
Corrections and additions — please
If something on this site is out of date, imprecise for your judicial district, or missing a resource your clients rely on, we want to know more than we want almost anything. The feedback form reaches us directly, and professional corrections get priority. The whole project runs on the premise that accuracy is a form of respect.
Speaking, trainings & collaboration
We're building toward partnerships with public defenders' offices, ORPC-affiliated counsel, family resource centers, libraries, and DV programs — from co-branded handouts to plain-language workshops. If that's interesting to your organization, say so through the form and we'll follow up.
