Visit Prep Checklist

Family time is the heartbeat of a case — and the part most worth preparing for. Plan each visit, walk in steady, and capture how it went while it's fresh. Visits get observed and noted; this is your side of the notes.

Plan a visit

Prep checklist (check what applies — every visit is different)

No visits logged yet. Many parents plan the next one here, then come back after to write down how it went — same day, while the details are sharp.

Why visit records matter

Consistent, prepared, warm visits are among the strongest facts a parent can put on a record — and a same-day note ("we read two books, she didn't want to leave") is worth more later than a memory. If a visit is cancelled or cut short, that belongs in the note too, with who said what. Pairs with Staying in Your Child's Life and the Documentation Log; hearings and schedule changes go in Court Dates & Deadlines.
